Delivering Power and Data at the Speed of Light

"New Patented Fibre Optic Technology”

  • Reduced Cost by 40-50%. Replaces copper with lower-cost plastic fibre; reduces complexity, parts and manufacturing costs.

  • Power Transfer of I MW on a 12.7cm (5 inch) diameter fibre bundle. Eliminates the heat and danger that traditional copper systems can create.

  • SPEED exceeding 700 GBps.

  • Efficiency: Achieves 87-92% efficiency, significantly higher than traditional copper systems (66-82%) and competitors (10-20%).

  • The overall optical network system reliability is 10-11, compared to a maximum of 10-5 for any copper-based system. This is due mainly to an order of magnitude decrease in system complexity, number of parts and interconnects. This results in a major increase of at least one order of magnitude in MTBF.

  • Our optical network system is higher than carrier grade, carrier grade being 10-5, or 5 9’s, since the network supplies both power and data for all LRU’s (with 10-11 reliability) including modems, routers, etc., thus the downtime per year is 6 orders of magnitude less than carrier grade.

  • Our optical network system have been tested by the FAA, Boeing and Airbus for toxicity, flammability and smoke while maintain constant data transmissions, and that includes our proprietary sheathing and cladding for withstanding and operating under the extended FAA and MILSPEC temperature ranges (-55C to +125C)

  • Lightspeed has passed certification by the FAA and the EASA for use in aviation.

  • Some of the customers who have installed and tested our optical network system in their aircraft: Gulfstream (G5), Bombardier (CRJ200/700), Boeing (B737 and KC-46 Pegasus B767), Northrop Grumman (MH-47G Chinook, CH-53K King Stallion, AH-64E Apache, UH/HH-60 BlackHawk, C-130 J and C-130H Hercules, C-17 Globemaster, C-5 Galaxy.)

  • SECURITY: Immune to EMI, RFI, EMP, HIRF - with no need for additional shielding to prevent eavesdropping/data interception.

  • Integrated Transceivers -Transmits power and data 100 times faster than electricity over copper.

  • Instant power-up and recovery from failure. Due to Helios' Lightspeed zero-software technologies, the power-up and recovery times are within 200ms.

  • Lighting: Can be utilized for both interior & exterior needs. No replaceable parts are needed. User customizable Displays and Controls via optical power, data, and back lighting.

Immune to lightning, corrosion, electromagnetic and radio interference.

  • Triple Modular Redundant optical power and data LAN.

  • Zero-Software.

  • Significant reduction of support components needed:

  • No need for massive junction, contactors, relays or breaker boxes. No need for expensive and heavy conduits.

  • Fibre optics cable bundles of 3 mm, 5 mm and 7 mm replace copper wiring.

Crypto /Blockchain Mining - no heat - less power- Faster speeds

Lightspeed brings unique advantages to digital currency processing/trading technologies.

Lightspeed is pioneering a revolutionary approach to data processing, utilizing optical power and data transfer for the backplanes of its proprietary hardware (data mining and blockchain servers). This innovative technology enables lightning-fast data transfer speeds exceeding 700Gbps, surpassing traditional electronic solutions by orders of magnitude.

Key Advantages:

  • Ultra-High Speed: The optical backplane, coupled with zero-software technology and hardware-based algorithms, accelerates data mining and blockchain processing by hundreds of milliseconds. This critical advantage is particularly significant in time-sensitive applications like high-frequency trading.

  • Enhanced Security: Lightspeed's optical network offers inherent immunity to electromagnetic interference, radio frequency interference, and hacking attempts. Additionally, built-in encryption algorithms proactively detect and thwart intrusion attempts, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Reduced Footprint and Power Consumption: The hardware-centric approach significantly reduces the size, weight, and power consumption of servers. This translates to substantial cost savings in terms of infrastructure, energy, and maintenance, especially when scaled to large server farms.

In essence, Lightspeed's technology delivers unparalleled performance, security, and efficiency, setting a new standard for data processing and paving the way for groundbreaking applications in various industries.

Block Chain processing uses a lot of energy.

How much energy? Bitcoin, the

world’s largest cryptocurrency, currently consumes an estimated 170 terawatt-hours of

electricity annually.

Producing that energy emits some 65 megatons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere annually making crypto a significant contributor to global air pollution and climate change.

Copper - the traditional medium and it's challenges:

2,247,000 tonnes (metric tons) of copper wire and cable were shipped worldwide in 2023. The trend has been generally upward and 2023 was in fact a record year. Over the last 25 years the average growth rate in copper use has been a 7.4% increase per year.

Fibre Optic Power Transmission is 100x Faster than Legacy

The advantages of Lightspeed technology include:

  • Optical power distribution: Fully redundant (2/3 busses), eliminating the need for circuit breakers and parallel redundant circuits, relays, transformers, chokes, and shields. Uses Lightspeed's patented power over fiber technology.

  • Optical network: Fully redundant (3 lanes), 11Gbps currently, roadmap to 100Gbps. PHY/MAC protocol implemented, with any other data protocol to be accommodated on top. PBIT/CBIT/HUMS for both power and data networks with fault detection, isolation and automated routing. Optical power and data can be sent/received on the same optical network and even on the same fibre optics cable, as necessary (for example for remote sensors).

  • Significantly less weight: Due mainly to optical power and data distribution (Lightspeed feasibility studies show 8% to 10% savings for a 31,000 lbs gross empty weight business jet).

  • Significantly less LRU's: Mainly due to combined functionality at NavCom, network and power distribution levels and systems integration (feasibility studies show that for an airborne and a terrestrial vehicle the system integration ratio is 6-8; a clear example showed that 43 legacy LRU's were replaced with just 6 optically networked - power and data - LRU's).

  • Full immunity to EMI, RFI, HIRF, EMP: Due to the power and data transfer over optical fibers.

  • Full immunity to corrosion: Due to the power and data transfer over optical fibres.

  • Full immunity to lightning: Due to the power and data transfer over optical fibres.

  • Significant reduction in the number of support components needed: No need for massive junction and breaker boxes, no need for expensive and heavy conduits.

  • Significant reduction in the entire system footprint: Copper wire bundles reduced to single 1mm, 3mm and 5mm fibre optics cables, connectors that are corrosion and waterproof and easy to handle.

  • Instant power-up and recovery from failure: Mainly due to the Lightspeed zero-software technologies, the power-up and recovery times are within 200ms.

  • No maintenance needed.

  • QUETM (Quantum Enhanced Transmission): The proprietary technology that powers the system

  • Aviation: Improving performance and survivability of all aircraft.
